CONTEMPORARY, AFFORDABLE AND TASTY
Lisa G Café Wine Bar Opens in Central Phoenix

March 20, 2006 – Phoenix, AZ – Marrying modern, contemporary design, artisanal breads and fresh ingredients and affordable prices, Lisa G Café Wine Bar offers patrons a soothing environment to curb their hunger pains with gourmet sandwiches and salads or mouthwatering pastries made fresh daily by Chef Ashly Young. Located at 2337 N. 7th St., Lisa G Café Wine Bar is leading the way in urban contemporary cuisine.

Collaborating with Chef Young, owner Lisa Giungo created a sophisticated menu for discerning diners but also incorporated long-time family favorite recipes in the mix. The humorously named “Balls” – already a crowd favorite - is a sumptuous bowl of beef, pork and veal meatballs and the prerequisite family secret ingredients is served with Focaccia bread. The “Juno” sandwich gets its name from Lisa’s Dad (his adopted name when no one could pronounce the family last name) and is the namesake’s own unique recipe of breaded chicken breast baked in garlic butter, caramalized onions, melted Fontina cheese, herb oil and served on a Ciabatta roll. With attention to quality and excellence, Lisa G gets all of its bread from MJ Bread.
“It has been my lifelong-dream to own my own restaurant,” said owner Lisa Giungo. “I wanted to create an environment where everyone felt welcomed, could enjoy a delicious meal and just enjoy themselves.”

With a background in retail and many years managing some of the Valley’s most notable restaurants, Lisa designed not just the menu but the restaurants interior as well. The cozy bungalow welcomes patrons with a color palatte of cool greens and warms browns, a custom-designed avonite bar with zebra wood façade, an amazing custom-designed five-foot high banquette and beautifully hand-painted and stained hard-wood floors. In the main room the original wood-burning fireplace is surrounded by “poufs”, comfortable cube shaped chairs that resemble works of art but are in actuality, quite comfortable. Family photos align the walls furthering the feel of warmth and hospitality.

Pending the approval of their liquor license on April 5, Lisa G Café Wine Bar will have an expanded dinner menu, late-night dining and will serve wine and martinis both indoors and on the patio.

Lisa G Café Wine Bar is open Monday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. No reservations required. Mastercard, Visa and American Express accepted. For more information, call 602-253-9201.
